When we think of ‘Hope Heroes’, we think of people who pour enormous energy into bringing hope to the lives of others, yet they don’t look for fame for themselves. They tend to be everyday people who do extraordinary things to bring about positive change. We love nothing more than to share their stories… and it’s our hope that you’ll be encouraged and inspired to catch hold of the spirit within what they do.

Rebecca of ‘Just Zilch’ took a simple idea and turned it into a means of feeding 150 to 200 hungry New Zealanders nearly every day. Rebecca has been applauded by many community leaders and has appeared as a TVNZ ‘Good Sort’. Over a four year period, Rebecca’s registered charity has grown and consolidated its community service… but the real value is found in the hope it brings to those it serves, and also in how it enables others to give back in return.

Kerri and Billy have established a boxing academy that’s part personal mission and part family collaboration. For Billy, having been trained by legendary Boxing coach Dick Dunn, it’s been his mission to spread the positive life lessons that impacted him. For Kerri and their family, it has been a remarkable life journey that has seen them wrap themselves around this mission… each adding their own unique energies and skills to bring more hope to hundreds of Kiwis.
